Satin Slave Ring

One of the first rings I ever made for myself was this slave
ring by Japanese designer Emi Takamatsu.

I'm not sure why it's called a Slave Ring but since that Emi's
name for it I'm happy to keep it that way!

My first ring was made with nylon beading thread and I wore the ring so much that it fell apart! I've since then discovered Fireline, which is a braided thread especially designed for crystals with sharp edges. I used this thread and a new order of satin bicones to make myself another ring and I think it looks even better than the first one!

The band for this ring is made to measure so orders must be accompanied by your finger circumference in millimetres. This made-to-order design will be listed in my Etsy store very soon.

An Island Treasure

I've just had a wonderful early Christmas present! Every single item in my MadeIt shop has been purchased by the lovely Jennie for her idyllic shop on North Stradbroke Island. I haven't been to the shop myself but judging from these pictures I think next time I will need to do a personal delivery!

 DRIFT Handmade Treasures

If anyone is lucky enough to be heading to the island anytime
soon make sure you stop in to have a peek.

This of course also means my Etsy shop is looking a little empty but fortunately I have a few new designs lined up that I hope to list before I head off to Canberra to spend Christmas with my sister.

A key bag!

That's it! I'm in love!

I can't think of a better way to start my blog than with this really fun key bag.

It's a little out of my price range and possibly a bit too small to accommodate the hundred-and-one bits of stuff my handbag seems to attract, but I'm adding it to my wishlist anyway!
And did I mention it comes in black, red and pink? If you want it, here's where you can get it: http://www.joaosabino.pt/
I very briefly wondered if I would be able to make one like this myself, but I think I'll just stick to beading for now.
